We ask that all guests please read our Q&As to answer many questions in regards to traveling and logistics. Additionally,  our Just Book It Travel Coordinators, are available to answer any of your questions and assist with booking the best deal for you! 

Q. Is there a dress code for the wedding?

Yes, beach cocktail attire. No jeans. Ladies (and gentlemen), when planning outfits and shoes for wedding events, be aware that no events will be held on sand. 

Q. What should I make sure to pack?

-Passport.

-Outfit and shoes that you will wear to the wedding.

-Swimsuit(s).

-Flip flops / sandals.

-Outfits for lounging around the beach and resort.

-Sun protection: hat, sunglasses, reef-safe sunblock.

-Mosquito protection.

-Personal medications and sanitary items.

Q. Are there any events before the wedding?

The Rehearsal Dinner is a 'Welcome Party' for all of Tina and Derek's guests attending the wedding. Please join us for a taco bar and cocktails at 7pm at the Grand Vista Terrace on February 19th. The dress code is casual cocktail attire. Look out for messages from Tina and Derek for any informal meetups.

Q. Have Tina and Derek planned any group excursions?

No, Tina and Derek have not planned any group excursions, but they encourage you to do so in your own groups! Remember, you can always plan and book your excursion once you get to the resort if you don't feel like pre-planning.

Q. Will we golf, and should I bring my golf clubs?

All are welcome to golf. Derek will organize a planned group golf as part of wedding festivities (date and time TBD), and Tina will sit this activity out. Many in the group will be bringing and traveling with their own golf clubs, but feel free to rent clubs at the resort's golf services

Q. Where can I find insider info, tips and tricks, and ask questions about the resort?

The 'Fans of Dreams Vista Cancun Resort' Facebook page is a great resource; apparently, Carlos and Hector are master mixologists and extremely popular at our resort! Also, download the 'AMR Collection' for hotel information, a list and descriptions of restaurants and bars, hotel map, special events, information about room service, Bali beds, spa treatments, Kid's Club activities, tours & excursions, etc.

Q. What will the weather be like? 
During the day, it will be in the mid-80s and feel warmer in the sun. Remember, our resort is know to be very windy; however, at the ‘preferred status’ pool is slightly enclosed since it is a rooftop pool, which helps with the wind. Expect more wind at the ground-level pool. Also, prepare for chilly, windy evenings. If you get chilly easily in restaurants, bring a light jacket or sweater.

Q. What  if I need to make changes to my reservation?

Since we are beyond November 30th, 2022 final payment deadline, the ability to get a refund/credit depends on whether you have travel insurance and what kind of change you need to make. Additionally, room rates may be different now since our pre-negotiated room rates were only secured through November 30th, 2022th. Please reach out to the Just Book It Travel Team at info@justbookittravel.com who can work with you to determine what your options are.

Q. What is the cancellation policy?

The initial $100 per person deposit originally used to RSVP is non-refundable. Since final balances were due on November 30th, 2022, any applicable refunds would only be possible if you purchased travel protection, through your travel protection provider. Please reach out to info@justbookittravel.com if you have any questions.

Q. Can I bring additional travel companions beyond my +1 / partner?

We are so excited to spend time with you, your +1 / partner and children at the wedding festivities. You are more than welcome to bring additional travel companions and friends to enjoy the vacation without attending the wedding events. Get in touch with Just Book It Travel at info@justbookittravel.com to arrange travel for these additional friends and family members who are coming on vacation, but not attending the wedding festivities.

Q. Which airport should I arrive/depart ?

When searching for flights, the airport you are flying to is Cancun International Airport (CUN). 

Q. How do I get from the airport to the resort?

We highly recommend to secure your transportation in advance. You can get taxis or shuttle transportation at the airport/resort but they are usually more expensive when buying directly on the same day. Private transportation can be arranged along with your room reservation, here is the cost:

  • Private Transportation: $35 per person (min 2 people) - direct service, only guests from the wedding group will be transported in the same vehicle (Recommended)

Q. What are the ground transportation instructions for arrival?

(Keep in mind that airline schedules can change frequently from when originally booked).

 

When you land, clear customs, and claim your baggage, there will be lots of people trying to sell you transportation, excursions, and all sorts of things - walk straight and don't blink -- You will locate the SHUTTLE CENTRAL representative near the welcome bar (Outside of the "Ground Transportation" airport exit).

 

They may be hard to find - do not get discouraged. Their sign will say “Tina & Derek's Wedding” or just “Shuttle Central”. Ask Tina & Derek to make a soft intro to other wedding guests sharing a shuttle with you prior to travel day so that the group can do a head count prior to taking off. The transportation company can only wait for one hour from the time the flight has landed, so it is important that you move fast through the airport.

 

If you are unable to locate the representative, please call 786-723-6220 and mention your Service Number.

 

Please note: If you were to miss your flight, you will be responsible for arranging your transportation /paying for a cab from the airport to the resort.

Q. What are the ground transportation instructions for returning home?

Guests can locate their pickup time on the Travel Instructions email provided by Just Book It Travel within 7-10 days of takeoff. 

 

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early at the outside pickup area for your transportation and be sure to have checked out of the hotel and obtained a check-out slip. You cannot leave the property without a check-out slip :)

 

Give yourself enough time to check out and still be early for transportation pickup. Please also announce yourself and the name of the transportation company to the outside resort staff. 

The transportation company can only wait for 5 minutes from pickup time, or you will be responsible for a taxi.  If your van does not arrive within 5 minutes of your pickup time, please call 786-723-6220.

 

Please note: If your flight schedule changes, your transportation is no longer guaranteed as it's pre-arranged and subject to the transportation company's availability. Last-minute changes are not guaranteed and the cost is non-refundable.

 You can also download the AMR collections app to learn more about our resort. The restaurants are all first-come, first serve. Expect wait times during peak hours. Reservations are required for the hibachi table. 

Q. Do I have to book with Just Book It Travel??  

Yes, we request that all guests only utilize our dedicated planner and travel coordinators as it will help us to keep the entire group organized and included in our planned group activities and informed of logistics and frequent updates. Everyone will receive a group discount, so you’ll always pay less than the internet by using Just Book It Travel, and most importantly, you will receive concierge level service from them.  Additionally, Just Book It Travel has flexible payment plans, making your travel arrangements even more affordable and convenient. If you've ever tried to contact an online travel company to make changes or cancellations, you'll appreciate the benefit of using a local, boutique travel agency (especially during times of uncertainty).

Q. Can I upgrade my room?

Absolutely! As long as the resort has availability for your travel dates. Please send an email to info@justbookittravel.com to inquire on pricing, availability and next steps. Go for it – book the penthouse! Once you've arrived on site, any modifications to your reservation (dates / room type / occupancy) would be handled at the front desk and are subject to market rates and availability.

Q. Can I confirm my bedding selection (One King or Two Queens) in advance?

All bedding requests are sent to the resort in advance. However, bedding and rooms are assigned at check-in and is not guaranteed by Just Book It Travel.

Q. Should we drink the water?

While the resort does its best to filter, it’s in your best interest to avoid tap water as much as possible. It is recommended that you take a probiotic for 1-2 weeks before arriving.

Q. What does “All-Inclusive mean”?

All-Inclusive resorts offer: All you can eat (gourmet restaurants and buffets), All you can drink (alcohol, mixed drinks, daiquiris, and non-alcoholic beverages), Entertainment (the resort will have daily and nightly activities including shows and a night club), Water Sports (kayaking, paddle boarding, and other non-motorized water sports are typically included), Room Service includes 24-hour room service of food. (Check the resort link in your invite for specific amenities offering at your resort)

Q. Any tips for our room?

Reminder: DO NOT leave your balcony door open, ever, especially when opening or closing any other doors in your room. Due to the architectural build of the resort, which resembles a cruise ship, and the wind flow, leaving the door open can cause doors to fly off their hinges or other objects in the room to be wind-blown. 

Q. Should we order room service? 

Room service can take up to an hour, so think ahead and order early. 

Q. Are There Excursions That We Can Participate In?

Sure thing!  The resort can help you plan individual and group excursions.

Q. How do I purchase travel protection? 

We recommend booking travel protection along with your itinerary. See Travel Protection options HERE. This travel protection plan must be purchased within one week of booking your room. If you are looking for independent, outside coverage that is purchased separately, please do your research and book with any trusted travel protection provider as soon as possible. Cancellation fees are non-refundable, except through qualified travel protection reimbursements.

Q. Does Mexico charge any mandatory governmental fees?

Several Municipalities in Cancun, Riviera Maya and Isla Mujeres have enacted an Environmental Tax to help maintain beaches and ecosystems. This tax is not included in any packages and therefore may be assessed directly by the hotel upon check out. The cost of the tax is approximately $1.30 USD, per night, per room. 

 

There is also a new Cancun Tourism Tax:
Effective April 1, 2021, arriving international visitors to the Cancun (CUN) airport will be required to pay $11 for the privilege of visiting Cancun and surrounding areas.

Q. What if my passport expires soon?

Valid passports are required at the time of travel. You can still travel to Mexico regardless of your passport expiration date as long as it is valid and not expired at the time of entry into Mexico. Instructions to apply for passports can be found here. Please allow 12-16 weeks for standard passport applications to process following your scheduled appointment with a passport "acceptance facility". If you do not obtain your passport prior to travel, you are responsible for any associated cancellation fees.

Q. What COVID or other travel restrictions exist?

Click the link below to see the current entry requirements. https://apply.joinsherpa.com/travel-restrictions. This site can change at any time. At this time, there are no requirements for vaccination or COVID-19 test for entry to Mexico or to return home for US residents.

Q: How can I best prepare for travel?

Please read this Pre-Travel Checklist to best prepare for travel. All confirmed guests will receive very detailed traveling instructions 7-10 days prior to travel.

Q. Does Just Book It Travel LOVE referrals?
